Dear Band and Guard Families,

 

 

A big thank you to everyone who came out and helped this past Friday night at the game. Everything went smoothly for the first game and the band looked and sounded great on the field Friday night. Concessions will be a challenge until our building is completed and many thanks to those who have helped and continue to work to enable us to sell through this construction period.  

 

 

Here are some reminders for this week.

 

Monday: No school or practice

Tuesday: Guard practice 4:00 - 5:30

Wednesday: Band and guard practice 3:00 - 5:30

Friday: Home game against Pedro Menendez

 

 

Please remember that your band cooler is part of your uniform. You must bring it to school with all your other uniform items on Fridays. Please also remember to write your name on the bottom in black sharpie. You MAY NOT put anything else on your cooler. We are trying to find the best method for filling the coolers. This Friday, please bring your cooler to school filled with ice (and obviously water if desired before the game prep begins). Trial and error will get us to the best method, thanks for your help!

 

 

VOLUNTEERS:

 

 

This week we will again be operating our concessions outside the building and we are in need of the following:

 

 

2 volunteers to grill

3-4 volunteers for the second shift (half time to clean up)

coolers filled with ice

2 pop up tents

 

 

ALL VOLUNTEERS must have contacted Michi Clendening (mrclendening (at) clearwire( dot) net) and be put on the official list we give to the Athletic Director. ONLY those volunteers on the list will be allowed to get into the gate for free. If you are not on the list as volunteering as a stands chaperone, field dad or to work in concessions, then you must pay for a ticket and come in the main gate. YOU MAY NOT walk thru with the band and not pay. You may walk out with the band, but then enter through the main ticket gate. Thanks for your help maintaining a good rapport with the athletic department.

 

 

YANKEE CANDLE:

 

 

This fundraiser is due on Wednesday, Sept 9th. Please place your order forms in the box labeled "Yankee Candle". As Mr. Johnson has communicated all along, we will not be accepting late orders. If you turn your orders in on Thursday, we will not accept them. Please don't be the person who has to disappoint their customers.

 

 

TRAILER ADS

 

 

Tuesday is the cut off for trailer ads. The football program has already been completed, but there is still space on the trailer for ads. Please make all your last minute contacts and have them turned in by Tuesday, September 8th to have the ad appear on a trailer. If you have questions, please contact Susan Cummick at scummick(at) aol(dot) com or 304-4900.

 

 

SEPTEMBER BOOSTER MEETING

 

 

We are going to have to reschedule our booster meeting due to a conflict with Nease Open House. Normally our meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month, however due to the conflict we are going to move our booster meeting to Sept 21st at 7pm in the band room. Sorry for any confusion or inconvenience this may cause.
