Dear Band and Guard Families,

 

Schedule for the week:

 

Monday 4:00 - 5:30 -- Band Practice

Tuesday 4:00 - 5:30 -- Guard Practice

Wednesday 3:00 - 5:30 -- Band and Guard Practice

Friday 4:00 - until -- First home football game against Fletcher

 

 

Friday will be our first home game.  Please remember that the kids will stay after school for a full rehearsal.  They will then eat together and get dressed for the game.  They will march out to the stadium during pregame activities.  Please remember that they cannot go home that evening until they have been dismissed by their section leader.

 

UNIFORMS:

 

- band show t-shirt

- black shorts

- tall black socks

- uniform with bibs HEMMED

- sheiko (hat)

- Dinkles (shoes)

- band cooler

- instrument

Many thanks go out to those of you who came to school Friday

  Please make sure to bring your uniforms to school on Friday.  You will need:

CONCESSIONS:

 

Our new concessions building should be on site this week, however we will not have electricity or water for the first home game.  The St. Johns County Health Dept and the School Board have worked out an agreement that will allow us to operate under our old constraints for the first part of the season to give everyone ample time to meet the new codes. 

 

What does that mean for us?    We will be able to sell concessions for the first few games without the permitting and inspections previously required.  In order to do this we will have to run the concessions much like we did the tailgate as our building is not yet complete.  For Friday we need volunteers to do the following:

 

- bring cooler filled with ice

- grill and assemble burgers

- set up concessions on 6ft tables

- sell concessions

- take down and clean at the end of the evening

 

If you can help out Friday evening in concessions, please contact Michi Clendening at

 

We will also need volunteers Friday before the game to:

 

- help serve the meal to the band

- help fill the water coolers

- help get percussion equipment and props to the field

- help get drum major stands to the field

- be a stands chaperone

As soon as the school is able to get the electrical and plumbing run to the building, we will schedule days to finish the building.  We will email as soon as we have a completion date from the school.

HAPERONE SHIRTS AND APPAREL

 

If you didn't order your chaperone shirt at the Pot Luck dinner, it is not too late!  We will place another order Friday.  Please use the order form available on the website, place your order form and check (payable to Nease Band Boosters) in the black box in Mr. Johnson's office by Thursday, September 2nd. 

 

Chaperone shirts that were ordered at the Pot Luck should be in for the first game.  You can pick your shirt up in the band room Friday between 5 PM and 6 PM.
