Thank you for your wonderful presence last night at our band booster meeting.  It was so nice to see so many parents in attendance!

Next week 3/18-the Jazz band will be performing for the 8th Grade open House.  They will perform until about 6 p.m.  If you have a student in the Jazz band make sure they are aware of this.  Thank you!  They will need to wear their Jazz attire. 

The Symphonic band has made it to state!  They earned straight superiors at the District MPA competition and will attend state at UF on April 26th (Monday).  They will be taking a bus during the school day to perform, work with a professor, and watch some other excellent bands.  They will need to wear their formal concert attire for this event.  Tuxes and formal dresses with black formal shoes and socks or opaque tights for girls will need to be worn.

During the rest of that week April 27th-30 Leadership camp will be held for students who wish to become officers in the band next year or in the future. This camp will be held after school until 5:30.

Rehearsal Schedule for the next month or so:

Week of 3/15-Symphonic Band-Monday and Wednesday

Week of 3/22-Symphonic Band-Monday and Wednesday

Week of 3/28-none (Spring Break)

Week of 4/5-none (Mr. J. will be in Dayton for Winter Guard)

Week of 4/12-Symphonic Band-Monday and Wednesday

Week of 4/19-Symphonic Band-Monday and Wednesday

STATE for Symphonic Band 4/26-held at Memorial Auditorium University of Florida. 

Band Banquet will be held on May 1st (Saturday) from 4-8.  Invitations will be going out shortly.  All band accounts must be current for your child to attend.  The cost of the tickets will be $20 and seniors will be $10.  Please RSVP as soon as you receive the invitation!  It will be held at the First Coast Technical College off of SR16 in St. Augustine. It will be catered by the Culinary School.

Please return your marching band uniforms if you still have them at home.  We are still missing some of them. Please make sure you returned the hanger that you received with the jacket. The uniform must be dry cleaned and the receipt must be attached.

Summer Camp Dates:

June 21, 23, 25-from 9 to 5 indoor only band camp

Mandatory Rookie Camp for Freshman, Sophomores, and Officers will be held July 12-16 from 9-5

Mandatory band camp for all Marching Band and Guard

August 9-20 from 9 to 5

Potluck dinner and performance for parents will be held on 8/20.

We are still ordering from the Script gift cards. We will be collecting orders at the band banquet if you are interested in purcahsing teacher end of the year gifts, graduation gifts, gas cards, etc. If you are interested in this program please contact Sherry Zastera.(szastera (at) comcast (dot) net.
